As we move from early-stage to scale-up, we’re hiring our first Talent Acquisition Lead to build and own the end-to-end hiring function from strategy and brand to process and delivery.
Role Overview
As the first Talent Acquisition (TA) hire at MarvelX, you’ll own the full hiring lifecycle and play a critical role in shaping how the company scales. Reporting to the COO, you will partner closely with the leadership team to scale the business from ~10 to 30+ employees over the next 12 months across Engineering, Product, Operations, GTM, and AI.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role. You’ll balance strategy with tactical execution: building employer branding from the ground up, defining the hiring process, implementing tools, and directly sourcing exceptional talent. You’ll set the foundation for a world-class recruitment function that prioritises speed, quality, and candidate experience.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Ownership
Design and own the company-wide hiring process aligned with business growth goals (target: 30 FTEs in 12 months). Build the talent acquisition function from zero - processes, tools, metrics, and operating rhythm. Partner with the COO and leadership team to forecast hiring needs, define hiring priorities, and plan headcount. Create a world-class candidate experience that reflects MarvelX’s culture, pace, and ambition.
Employer Branding & Outreach
Lead employer branding strategy, shaping MarvelX’s narrative as an elite destination for top-tier engineering, AI, and startup talent.
Direct Sourcing & Execution
Take ownership of all hiring pipelines, from sourcing through to offer acceptance. Proactively identify and engage with exceptional candidates across AI, product, and tech ecosystems using creative sourcing strategies. Build diverse, high-quality candidate pools and maintain strong relationships with prospects. Own and manage the full hiring process, from screening and interviews to feedback loops and offers.
Process, Tools & Data
Design a hiring process that is fast, fair, data-driven, and consistent across teams. Select and implement the right TA tech stack (ATS, sourcing tools, analytics, employer brand platforms). Track and report key hiring metrics - speed, quality, conversion rates, source efficiency, and diversity metrics. Continuously refine processes based on feedback from hiring managers and candidates.
Who You Are
You have 4-8 years experience recruiting in EMEA.
You’ve successfully built or scaled hiring within a high-growth startup or scale-up environment (ideally tech, fintech, or AI).
You are both strategic and hands-on, comfortable switching between discussing process and closing candidates.
You have deep experience in direct sourcing and headhunting, particularly for technical and leadership roles.
You have experience with multiple ATS systems, interview processes, and data-led reporting. You thrive in a fast-paced, ambitious environment where you can create structure without bureaucracy. You care deeply about candidate experience and culture fit as much as technical skills.
